Confidence

I was inspired at church this week to talk about confidence.

When it comes to my confidence in my ability to loose weight I have to be honest and say it is low. My whole life I have gone up and down in my weight. I have probably been on a diet for half of my life... No joke! I have never felt what it is like to be thin because I have always been thick. I'm sure there are many people out there who feel the same way as me and have lived a life style like mine. If you have lived a life like mine you know that it is nearly impossible to have confidence in yourself when it comes to working out and eating right. It has never worked before so why would it work now.

I propose to all of you a different mind set. 1) God can do all things. He is all powerful and what's greatest is he cares about the things that we care about. He has a heart for each and every one of us and I truly believe his heart breaks for his people who do not like the way they look. 2) realize that part of the reason why you can't break out of the habit is because you are turning to something other then God (maybe not in all cases, but most) God can satisfy our every need if we let him. 3) make a life style change don't go on a diet. For me I try extra hard to eat healthy foods that nourish my body and give me energy during the week. I also work out most during the week. I tend to go out to eat more on the weekend when I go on dates with my boyfriend. Instead of saying I'm going to eat super healthy I just already know when I go out to eat I'm going to get what I want in reason. Don't set unrealistic goals for yourself. You aren't going to always eat healthy. I enjoy good food, now I just try to enjoy the things that are a little out of my calorie range less often then before. When you eat better and work out you will loose weight and the great thing about doing it this way is when you do have a day or a week that you don't eat the things you probably should you won't gain all you weight back because you have been loosing the right way.

Have confidence! It's ok if you think you can't do it because let's be honest if you have tried this long to do it yourself you probably can't. The good thing for us is that GOD will help us if we ask! Find your confidence in him. He will work in ways unimaginable. He will put people around you to help you. And let's not forget this is not about being the most beautiful or the slimest or even the most fit and healthy. This is about learning to love who we are. I'm telling you working out an eating healthy helps you learn to love yourself. God gave us all different bodies ask God to help you come to the point that you see yourself the way he does so you can better accomplish the dreams he has for you. Don't get consumed by a "diet". Do everything un to the Lord in the way he would have you do it!
